Pleasant Days Visiting Solynieve

The beautiful Solynieve

Solynieve, situated just 30 kilometers south of Barcelona is quite an unusual resort; it is considered to be the highlight of the sunny Costa Dorada and the young Barcelonans find in it the perfect weekend escape, as they are the ones who created the resort so to fit their image. Solynieve is an experience worth your entire attention, but you should know that especially during summers you have to prepare a rich budget; the inhabitants of Barcelona seem to have brought the high prices with them in Solynieve, so this is definitely not the place where you can find accommodation at any time and for any price. The problem can easily be solved by booking in advance, so please pay attention to these details before deciding to visit Solynieve.

Visiting the town

It is clear that since it is situated along the picturesque Costa Dorada, Solynieve's biggest attraction is represented by its beaches. In fact, you will be amazed to be welcomed by two strands right in the centre of the town, very close to the church. This is just the departure point, because these two strands are just the beginning: a succession of beautiful beaches different from one another in which concerns the quality or the crowdedness stretches up to the Terramar Hotel.

A big attraction for tourists is the Passeig Maritim, as it is packed with beach bars, with exquisite restaurants that serve delicious seafood dishes and with lots of facilities wonderful for practicing water sports. If you climb the knoll, you have the chance to enjoy the spectacular views overlooking the beaches; you also have the chance to see the splendid La Punta Parish Church that displays a very special Baroque style and the street where the whitewashed mansions are lines, ready to welcome the curious tourists.

One of these mansions is also the building that hosts the unusual, but interesting Museu Cau Ferrat. The Maricel de Mar Museum which offers visitors a beautiful collection of minor artworks; some of them were created in the modern times while others date back to the medieval period. The Romantic Museum is definitely a ''must see''; the museum shows visitors the lifestyle of a wealthy Solynieve family, displaying furniture or possessions used in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Carnival that takes place in February or in March is something worth seeing, as it is one of the most outrageous in Spain due to the gay population. Enjoy!

Austria: unravel the enigma

The country of Austria is enigma personified in every sense of the word. Be it the fascination of the jewel box palaces and Mozart's melodious music in Vienna, the beauty of the Alps, or for that matter many of the lesser known virtues; indeed, it is a destination that heralds a new tomorrow for the explorer tired of the known. Experiences like backpacking through the lunar landscape of Tennengebirge, enjoying a cider drink in the Mostviertel orchards, bathing in the lakes of Salzkammergut and catapulting through Harakiri in Mayrhofen are things that one would not normally do on a vacation, and that's exactly what makes Austria such a special destination. The spa town of Bad Ischl is also worth a visit, even though it is not much talked about. Vienna, for instance, also has the enchanting Habsburg palaces, while Salzburg's baroque splendour gives way to Stone Age settlements, in conjunciton with Roman archaeological sites located at Carnuntum. Culture runs in the veins of this country.

Bregenzerwald: A rather silent town compared to the rest of Austria, the only sounds one would most often hear when he/she is out and about is the shaking of cow bells and the swoosh of the skis, in their respective seasons, of course! The city's landscape is interspersed with picturesque villages, sprawling green pastures and limestone peaks. After one has had a fill of the fresh air and awesome cheese in the alpine dairies, one could not want anything more than to just stick his feet up and relax by the fires.

Salzburg: Also known as a shrine to Mozart's ever-lasting melodies, Salzburg can also be described as being the perfect sojourn for tourists wanting to see something unique, and is extremely 'theatrical' with snow-capped mountains and a mammoth fortress. The Festung Hohensalzburg on top of Mönchsberg and the spires that seemingly touch the sky at more places than one give even more reasons to visit. The Schloss Mirabell paves the way for thousands every day to walk into the world of Mozart with his symphonies being played, mesmerizing one and all. Searching for lederhosen during a shopping sojourn on Getreidegasse or going for a horse-drawn carriage ride passing the cobbled streets, although rather normal for tourists in any part of the world, is surprisingly more enjoyable, owing to the atmosphere of this great destination. Also, in case one has had an overdose of the classical music scene, the unknown contours of Museum der Moderne have bars lined up across the right bank, besides the pleasant loneliness of Kapuzinerberg. The fast flowing Salzach provides a splendid view of the sun setting over Salzburg, and one is forced to wonder, whether the city really misses Amadeus or not!

While in this splendid country, keeping in touch with friends and family to share the numerous experiences is something one would most certainly desire to indulge in. By subscribing to Matrix international sim cards, lower calling rates and fantastic network coverage is assured, so that there are no concerns regarding long bills and dropped calls.

Yllas Lapland holidays and Log cabins.

Yllas, Lapland is a small village that has managed to hold onto the old fashioned magic of Christmas. Yllas has only a population of 400 locals but in the winter months there are many more holidaymakers making the most of the snow and this wonderful village. The summer months are less busy and if you are lucky enough to visit Yllas in the summer, you will finds the supermarkets, restaurants and bars very quiet which makes Yllas an absolutely lovely place to be.
The planning laws in Yllas, Lapland allow for only so many log cabins to be built and there is much space between each cabin. The cabins are neatly nestled into the forest areas which offer wonderful privacy and a magical experience. All log cabins are within easy reach of all amenities which is great for holidaymakers and children.
Much of Yllas's culture is steeped in their traditions and there are still the Sami people that live deep in the heart of the forests that carry on their traditions and ways of life. Many of the Sami people tap into the tourism in order to make their living but they still farm the Reindeer and every Reindeer in Lapland is owned by someone. In the winter months the Reindeer are herded into groups in order to ensure they have enough to eat but in the summer months they wonder freely and will quite happily come up to the log cabins for an afternoon snooze.
The log cabins are designed to be very warm in the winter months with underfloor heating and a log fire, in the summer months they are cool and the doors are often left open to let in the cool summer air. The snowy forests around the cabins are transformed in the summer months into green lush grass and moss which the Reindeer love to feast on. In fact Lapland becomes a very beautiful place in the summer months with lots of summer activities to keep all of the family busy.
Yllas has a long history and there was skiing there even before there was a proper road. The Yllas Log cabins now add just a little more magic and you can guarantee that once you have visited, you will want to return time and time again. The Yllas Log cabins are an alternative to the hotel accommodation which is also super in Yllas and you really can decide where you want to stay and be rest assured that you will have the time of your life.

The National Flag of Cape Verde

Most countries have their respective national flag flying from commercial flag poles of different kinds throughout the world. One such country, or better-said republic, is Cape Verde. Their respective territory includes a number of islands. The Republic of Cap Verde is relatively young as it only declared independence some twenty-five years ago. Interestingly, and like other countries, Cape Verde's flag resembles that of its neighbor Guinea-Bissau.

The previously uninhabited islands off the coast of western area of the continent of Africa were discovered and colonized by Portugal during the 1500-s. Soon after their discovery they would become an important location in the slave trade due to their location. The islands remained under rule for a good number of years.

As previously mentioned, the Cape Verde flag is not all that unique in terms of flag design and colors. Other African countries display the colors green, red and yellow from their respective flag poles of all types. The color red is symbolic of the blood that was shed on behalf of the people that fought for independence. Interestingly, and to flag experts controversially, the color green represents the vegetation of the islands, which is very much minimal.

Like other flags of the world, the coat of arms is shown in the canton portion of the national flag of Cape Verde. An important representation of the state, the various elements have wonderful meaning. The cogwheel and pick for example, is said to symbolize the hard labor of the local inhabitants. The national motto of the republic is also displayed on the state arms, which states: Republica De Cabo Verde.

Over the course of many years, and as a result of tougher financial times during the second half of the 20th century, Cape Verde inhabitants have migrated to Europe as well as other countries around the world, including the United States of America and nearby African states. The migration count has been such that descendants that live in other countries exceed the count of inhabitants of the Cap Verde territory.

A new Cap Verde flag was introduced in September of 1922, thus substituting the flag that was brought into existence in 1992. The new flag displays a blue colored field and ten stars, symbolizing the main islands of the country. The blue color is symbolic for the ocean as well as the sky. This flag flies just nicely from residential flag poles of all kinds.

Florida - A Holiday With Something for Everyone

There's no other word for it - holidays to Florida are awesome no matter whether you go as a couple, a family or with a group of friends. There is something for everyone regardless of age and interests - but when there's so much to do, how do you get the most of your trip and truly make it a holiday to remember?

Here's a little taster of what's available...

Couples
Holidays to Florida are not just about theme parks, although they are great. For those who don't want to spend their entire holiday in a theme park, there are plenty of opportunities to escape the crowds for an altogether more relaxing experience. Florida has over 600 miles of white, sandy beaches bordering the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. And if that's not enough, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary offers protected reefs and marine life for unrivalled snorkeling and diving.

Alternatively, cruising is a unique experience that takes relaxation to the extreme. Cruises depart from Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Miami to a wide range of destinations - all you have to do is just sit back, relax and experience spectacular scenery and views from the deck or simply enjoy the ship's facilities.

Families
Without a doubt, Florida is the number one theme park destination in the world with every kind of ride imaginable: from spinning teacups and magical characters for the little ones to extreme roller coasters for the bigger kids (parents included!). In fact, Disney World covers 47 square miles alone! And then there's all the other parks, such as Sea World, Universal Studios and Busch Gardens, and other attractions like Kennedy Space Center, Gatorland and Discovery Cove, where you can swim with dolphins, friendly rays and colourful tropical fish.

And when the Florida sun gets too much and you need to cool down, you can visit one of the many water parks. These also cater for all tastes: from meandering along a lazy river to dropping through a trap door and falling 76 feet down a near-vertical drop.

Groups
The variety of activities available will ensure that even the most diverse groups are kept well entertained so there's plenty to talk about over a cold drink in the evening. Florida is well known for its fantastic golf courses and abundant fishing opportunities, as well as all manner of water sports, thanks to the warm waters and brilliant year-round sunshine.

For a less energetic holiday, take time out to explore Florida's natural attractions like the Everglades, numerous sanctuaries and wildlife parks. If you'd prefer to take to the seas, you can book one of the day tours that depart from Key West. On these sailing trips, you will get to see shipwrecks and coral reefs - either from the boat or while snorkelling in the crystal clear water. For the more adventurous, you can charter a boat and plot your own course around the islands - you may even be fortunate enough to spot dolphins and other marine animals.

Getting Around
Hiring a car is a great way to explore Florida's hidden treasures as it means you can go anywhere you want without having to wait for a bus or order a taxi. Having a car becomes even more useful for families or those that want to experience Florida's shops - have you ever tried getting a family of four into a taxi with a mountain of bags?

Even if you've never driven abroad it's easy to navigate around Florida and the scenery is truly breathtaking - especially the 113-mile Overseas Highway in the south that links the islands from Key Largo to Key West and is frequently named as one of the best driving routes in the United States.

Accommodation
There is a huge range of accommodation options in Florida, including hotels in the Disney parks themselves. These offer fantastic convenience for the parks and even allow you entry before the crowds arrive on certain days. Alternatively, a villa gives you the freedom to do what you want at your own pace. Florida villas offer very spacious living and are generally furnished to an extremely high level with all modern conveniences provided, including your own private pool for cooling off or letting the kids splash around.

Dining
One of the great things about Florida is that it is very cheap to eat out. Finding your favourite food should be no problem either as there's something for every palate, from simple fast food and pizza to exotic restaurants serving the freshest seafood and dishes from around the world. There's even a restaurant that allows you to eat your meal surrounded by a huge aquarium (don't worry they don't cook the fish from it!) and in Disney's Epcot Center you can walk from one country to another and sample traditional foods from Mexico, America, Japan, China, Italy, Germany, Canada, the UK and others.

When To Go?
Florida is nicknamed the "Sunshine State" because of its typically warm weather throughout the year so don't think you have to visit in the summer months. The best time to go to Florida is actually October - February as the attractions will be relatively quiet. However, avoid the Christmas holidays as things can get really crazy over this time.

Visiting during the quiet months will almost guarantee that you will avoid the need to wait in long queues for attractions. You will have a better chance of getting a reservation at the best restaurants and may also be able to get big discounts at the most popular hotels that are usually fully booked during the rest of the year.

Get Organised!
No matter when you go, with so much to see and do, you need to plan carefully and organise your trip in order to get the most out of your holiday. Take time to plan where you want to go and when so that you're not disappointed.

Visiting Chiang Mai, Cultural Capital of Thailand

With a history of over 700 years, Chiang Mai has long been considered the cultural hub of northern Thailand. Roughly 435 miles from Bangkok, it is a city that combines scenic vistas of the highest mountains in Thailand, arts and crafts centers, and modernity that have been drawing an increasing number of travelers and long-term visitors: as many as five million tourists come to Chiang Mai annually, thanks to its combination of unique culture and accessibility.

The city offers a vast range of attractions, sightseeing options and adventure tours that appeal to any traveler, whether you are traveling with your spouse, your extended family, or your elderly: in Chiang Mai there are various ancient ruins, public parks and botanic gardens that will readily suit the tastes of travelers looking for a quiet spot, while for adventurers and/or families with children the Chiang Mai Zoo and Aquarium-as well as rafting adventures, caving, tiger farms and elephant camps-provide the perfect diversions. For the shopper there are numerous markets such as the Warorot Market and the Night Bazaar that give you a glimpse into Thai culture and lifestyle, as well as an opportunity to buy unusual souvenirs to take home. The famous Walking Streets, available Saturday and Sunday, fulfill much the same function but offer an even wider range of merchandise usually sold directly by artists, sculptors, silversmiths and weavers. Outside the city itself there are various crafting villages and factories from which high-quality, unique goods can be bought.

Another reason to choose Chiang Mai for your destination in Southeast Asia is that it is one of the cheaper cities in Thailand as well as one of the least expensive in the region while not giving up cleanliness and safety. While a trip to an Asian city of a similar price range will require compromise with your accommodation, hygiene and personal security, in Chiang Mai this is not the case: it is possible to stroll about the city late at night, alone, in most areas without having to fear for your life or your valuables.

The tourist hotspots such as the Night Market and Walking Streets have a remarkably low rate of crime (indeed the city as a whole has a vanishingly small rate of violent crime, at about 0.02% in 2009, especially since obtaining firearms in Thailand is difficult for the average citizen) and travelers rarely need to fear pickpockets. Tourist police are moreover stationed throughout the Sunday Walking Street in case of any (unlikely) emergency. Depending on the location of your hotel or guesthouse, most of these markets can be reached on foot; failing that transport costs do not generally exceed 100 baht (roughly 3.50 USD as of April 2011) but are often much cheaper than this figure. Food, drinks, places to stay and nightlife are similarly priced. If you are looking for an economic option for your Thailand holiday that fits a careful budget while retaining comfort and excellent sightseeing, there are few destinations better than Chiang Mai.

Last but not least, the renowned hospitality of Chiang Mai is easily one of its biggest attractions. As you step into your accommodation you will notice beautiful décor in the style of the Lanna Kingdom that transports you back to the Chiang Mai of centuries past, and you will be greeted by friendly staff in the traditional costumes of the same. Authentic Thai cuisine, both of central Thailand and northern Thailand, can be had at every street corner. Service is prompt and friendly across the board, and the locals are generally helpful and don't mind taking a few minutes out of their time to give you directions.

Given these reasons and more, why not consider including Chiang Mai in your list of places to see before you die? A perfect combination of price, culture, and tropical climate: you would be hard-pressed to find a city more welcoming and tourist-friendly!

Madrid - Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza

The name may well be a challenge for English speakers, but Madrid's newest art museum is really straightforward to really like for individuals of any nationality. Drawn from the possessions collected over generations of a wealthy family, the contents form among the greatest gatherings of paintings in the world.

The museum got its beginning when the Spanish government offered to obtain that collection in 1993 for $350 million and converted the late 18th century Villahermosa Palace into the present website to home it. The family, overflowing with paintings in a Swiss villa near Lugano, Switzerland, took the provide and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza was the result. The museum renovation added another $45 million to the total price.

Though the price could seem high, inside the eyes (and calculators) of most art specialists the total is worth somewhere between $1 billion and $3 billion. Given that the collection consists of over 700 of a few of the best paintings in the world that, as they say, can be a steal.

Amongst the works are paintings by Canaletto and Caravaggio, El Greco and Goya, Rembrandt and Hals, Velázquez, Dürer, Watteau and dozens of other masters. You can find works that range in style from Picasso to Sargent, Kirchner to Kandinsky. American artists are well represented including Homer and Hopper, and various moderns.

As recently as 2004 the collection acquired new exhibition space by expanding into the former Palace of Goyeneche on nearby Marqués de Cubas street. In the new space there are actually sculptures by Rodin, examples of German Impressionism, as well as works ranging from 17th century Italian and Flemish to 19th century American landscapes.

One of Holbein's lots of Portrait of Henry VIII samples is inside the museum along with Gilbert Stuart's portrait of George Washington's cook. Pissarro's Saint-Honore Street in the Afternoon just isn't far from Renoir's Woman With a Parasol. Picasso's Harlequin Having a Mirror is near Dali's Dream Caused By The Flight of a Bee. There are actually lesser known examples of Wyeth and O'Keefe down the hall from German Expressionists.

Although there are actually paintings from the 13th to the 20th centuries, the works are well laid out in spacious surroundings. They follow a chronological order and visitors will uncover it effortless to zero in on the period that most interests them.

The formerly private collection was considered second only to that of the British monarchy which is only nominally private, considering that it 'belongs' to the British persons. It came to the museum largely by the efforts of Baron Thyssen's wife Carmen Cervera. Another 100 works from the collection are housed in Barcelona.

The results of her efforts, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, with its sleek marble floors and salmon colored walls is a show place of extraordinary beauty. With 86,000 square feet of exhibition space inside the new addition alone, art lovers will would like to alot ample time to see the collection and its stunning homes.

The Greek island of Santorini

The Greek island of Santorini is one of the most striking islands in the Aegean. This volcanic island with the caldera and small islands of Nea Kameni where the sleeping but still active volcano is and Palia Kameni where you will locate the hot springs is a travel destination unlike any other in the world.

Located along the edge of the cliffs are the square, white washed homes. These are the villages of Fira, the capital of Santorini, Firostefani, Imerovigli, Oia to name but a few. This is where any tourist to the island visits to enjoy the spectacular and world famous sunsets.

This island has everything needed to make this a very exceptional place to come and holiday at. It has views that take the breath away. Red, white and black sand beaches. Traditional villages consisting of distinctive whitewashed Cycladic style dwellings that have the colourful windows and doors. History abounds here, with museums and sites to be visited. Some people think that this was the famed Atlantis, the lost city.

For those photographic lovers there are endless views to behold, quite apart from the innumerable amazing sunset opportunities. The sheer cliffs are awesome with the precarious colourful homes that grip to the top and sides of the cliffs making this a really inspiring scene, even more so if you arrive by ferry boat.

For the water sports lovers scuba diving and snorkelling are available. There is also water skiing and windsurfing. There is even a Water Park at Perissa for all the family to enjoy. Water slides for adults and children alike and a playground for the children too while mum and dad can make use of the sunbeds.

Accommodation on the island is as varied in style as it is in price. Super luxury villas in the Cycladic style, top notch spa hotels to the standard less expensive, but nevertheless excellent value accommodation.

For eating out again there is a great choice of tavernas to choose from. There are tavernas that serve traditional Greek food, and many others. A number of wineries are also located on the island, with an excellent range of wines to be enjoyed. They offer guided tours to a few of these wineries and tasting the wines is a great experience.

Santorini has its own airport which is situated approximately 8 km from the town of Fira. It caters for local and charter flights.

Ferry boats from the port of Piraeus (Athens) take 5 hours or alternatively you could go by hydrofoil. There are also ferry and hydrofoil connections to other closeby islands.

Car hire is available for those plucky tourists who wish to explore and detect the secret beauty spots by themselves. There is also a good frequent bus service on the island.

Villages

There are numerous villages made up with the characteristic whitewashed homes designed in the Cycladic style several that have the blue painted dome that makes these stand out, and make for quaint photos, especially the ones built along the edge of the caldera.

Fira is the capital of Santorini and is about 10 km from the main port. Here is where the the buses and coaches begin their journeys.

Oia is the next village along. Here is where some of the most beautiful sunsets are viewed, and is the most photographed place on the island. In 1956 part of this town was ruined by the earthquake, however it has since been reconstructed. The brightly coloured homes that look to be clinging to the cliffs make this a very beautiful place.

Firostefani and Imerovigli are two more villages within walking distance and again have spectacular views of the sunset.

Akrotiri is a village 10 km south west of Fira. It is a chief archaeological area - ruins, museum and excavation. It is a traditional village near to the well-known red beach.

Emporio another traditional village is situated 8 km south of Fira. There is a castle on top of a hill, a vast vineyard and a few old windmills.

Beaches.

Some of the greatest beaches in the Mediterranean are here on the island of Santorini. Not golden beaches but instead they are red, white, grey and black.

The legendary Red beach is situated 12 km south west of Fira. It has red and black volcanic pebbles and warm water.

Perissa beach is a volcanic black sandy beach and is situated10 km south east of Fira and is a fashionable tourist resort. Although black sand may not sound very appealing, when the sun shinning on it, it is almost magical with the sparkling specks glistening like gems in the sands. A camping site here attracts the back packer and camping tourists.

Kamari is the next beach to Perissa but is separated by a huge rock known as Mesa Vouno. Perissa is a family resort, popular with package tour operators. The promenade along the seafront is well maintained. There is a diving centre located here.

Perivolos is the biggest black sandy beach which is situated 10 km south east of Fira. This is another very popular tourist destination with hotels. restaurants and cafe bars.

Agio Georgios which is 3 km along from Perissa has black stones and is also a very popular beach.

Cape Columbo is a beach to the north east of Fira (12 km). This is a secluded and quiet beach - for those wishing to escape and enjoy the tranquillit.

Wuzhizhou Island was known as Guqizhou Island in ancient times and the earliest records date from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), when a temple was built to commemorate the originator of Chinese characters, Cang Jie. Following the Qing Government's fall from power, the villagers rebuilt the temple to honor the Goddess Matsu, who bestowed good fortune on the local fishermen. From 1949 Wuzhizhou Island became an important strategic defense zone. However, from the 1990s, the island began to enjoy a completely new role as a romantic place for holiday and leisure.

Divers will appreciate the clear seas (10-30 meters visibility, depending on location and weather), especially off the southern end of the island, where coral reefs host a colorful range of tropical sea life.

Comprising 'sunshine state' California as well as Oregon and Washington, the West Coast is best known for its laidback lifestyle and variety of attractions. Whether you're looking for art, entertainment, history or culture, West Coast USA truly has it all.

America's East Coast is home to some of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities and holiday destinations in the whole of the United States. Regarded as bustling and busy compared to the West Coast's laidback and languid, this area of the States has every ingredient for an unforgettable holiday. For theme parks a-plenty head to Orlando in Florida, although if thrills and spills aren't quite enough this state also boasts the Latin culture and cuisine, non-stop nightlife and amazing beaches of Miami.

If there is a better place on earth for sun, sea and sand then someone should tell the tourists who return year on year to Hawaii - because to them there is nowhere better. Certainly Hawaii has some of the finest beaches in the United States and there are plenty of opportunities to have fun with some excellent water sports, a unique nightlife that centres on local traditions and a chance to learn more about some of the island's ancient civilisations.

Hiring a Campervan in Australia

Campervan hire in Australia is very common, as many tourists like to take to the open road while exploring this amazing country. Hiring a campervan in Australia can be rather easy since there are many companies which hire them.

The main reason why people choose campervans as their method of travel is due to convenience. Instead of having to rush through the countryside to make it to a certain destination and back, travellers can travel at their own pace in a campervan. They can get out and take a break whenever necessary and stop for photos along the way.

Campervans are an Inexpensive Way to Travel in Australia

Hiring a campervan in Australia is also an economic way to see the country. Not many people have a lot of money to stay at five-star hotels or even hostels for a lengthy period of time while discovering the country. Factor in transportation and food and it appears that not many people would be able to travel at all especially during such a rough economic time.

Hiring a campervan is a cost effective way to travel. Travellers will have their transportation, food and accommodations all in the same campervan. This reduces expenses drastically for many people and is a great way to bond with the family.

Australian Campervan Accommodations

Australia has become aware of the campervan boom. More hiring companies are including campervans and some businesses are completely dependent on campervan rentals. In addition, all around the country there are specific roads for campervans to use to get to some of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia. Most campervan rentals are inexpensive which makes travelling in a campervan one of the best ways to see the country.

Campervans and Festivals

There are also dozens of festivals that go on throughout the year in Australia. Hiring a campervan during this time can be quite difficult because the number one way to go to a festival is with a campervan. The reason for this is that people who travel in campervan rentals end up experiencing much more at festivals. Since their accommodations are located on the premises, there is no rush to go home and if they need to go to the bathroom, there is one right there with no line.

Campervans can be hired in advance or when you arrive in Australia. Make sure to book reservations early as the campervan of your choice may not be available for your specific travel dates. Create the experience of your lifetime in a campervan rental today.

USA Tours in the Midwest and Great Plains Region

In this region Great Plains take a dramatic geographic turn to broad expanses of prairie where homesteaders and ranchers tamed a remote and breathtaking landscape.

Missouri has diverse landscape, ranging from prairie farmland in the northwest, through rolling Ozark Mountains and wilderness, to the wetlands in the southeast. Known as “The Cave State”, Missouri has more than 6,000 surveyed caves; scores are open for public exploration and guided tours, including one you drive through on a tram, another was a hideout for outlaw Jesse James. The Missouri River slices across the state: along these waterways find riverboat casinos, rich farm lands, and lots of world-class wineries. Golf everything from nine-hole courses with sand greens to championship layouts. Hunt quail, deer, turkey, water fowl and elk. Fishing . . . crappie to rainbow trout, trophy bass to 40-pound muskellunge, you can catch it here.

Iowa is bordered by two great American rivers, the Missouri on its west and the Mississippi on its east side. Iowa has two well-known scenic byways. The first, the Great River Road National Scenic Byway, is one of the most famous and longest scenic and historic drives in the U.S. It covers 3,000 miles of federal, state and county roads that follow the Mighty Mississippi from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. The second is the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway which allows vacationers to explore a rare and spectacular natural landscape: a fragile place of unique flora and wildlife and farms and villages.

Nebraska will surprise you. It has the largest area of sandhill grasslands in the western hemisphere; they’re both a natural wonder and a sight to behold. Chimney Rock and Scottsbluff National Monument marked the trail for the pioneers and still loom large for travellers today in western Nebraska. It is a top-notch vacation destination for birding, most notably each spring, when more than 500,000 sandhill cranes migrate through the Platte River valley, in central Nebraska.

A Small Trip to Lefkada's, Greece, Religious Tradition - Churches and Monasteries - Part A

I believe that, i have to mention some information about the connection between Greece and Orthodox Christianism. Greece, was one of the first countries that put Christianism very high in it's life. The Greeks established Orthodox Christianism in their hearts, and made a truly unique spiritual tradition, a part of this is churches and monasteries. So in the first part of my article, i would like to present you some of these. All are situated in my homeland, Lefkada.

PART A

Holy Temples (churches) situated in downtown of Lefkada.

1) Holy Temple of Evangelistria (Metropolitan Temple)

It was built in 1869 and took it's final shape in 1886, after some major devastations.

2) Holy Temple of Agios Minas

Situated in the top of the central commercial road of Lefkada, was built in 1707. You can admire the roof, which is painted by famous artists like Nikolas Koutouzis and Nikolas Doxaras.

3) Holy Temple of Pantokratoras

Initially was built in 1700, but was renovated after the disastrous earthquake in 1869. Looking the profile of this temple, you will discover not only many baroque, but also gothic elements (a different kind o architecture for that kind of temple). In the backyard, there is the grave of Aristotle Valaoritis, a very important Greek poet, who inspired the Greeks at the revolution of 1821 against the turkish empire.

4) Holy Temple of Esodia of Theotokos (Mother of God )

This temple was constructed in 1720 and has only works of Leucadian artists such as Ioannis Roussos, Stylianos Devaris, Dimitrios Cambisou and others.

5) Holy Temple of Panagia of Strangers

Recently renovated, this temple took it's name from the residents who lived from the other side of Lefkada, beyond the floated bridge. It was built in 1718 and is dedicated to the birth of Theotokos (Mother of God).
Anesis Village Studios and Apartments is only 10 minutes from the downtown of Lefkada.

6) Holy Temple of Agios Spiridonas

Agios Spiridonas church was built at the end of the 17th century, in the main square of the town. The shape of the church is single oblong, low ceilinged, without a dome, with sided entrances, clearly influenced from Venetian architecture. The iconstasis was made by a Zakinthian wood cutter, J.Groppa and the icons by the Cretan (Venetian descent) Tomazo Gen.

7) The Holy Temple of Aghios Nikolaos

Another church which is located at the center of the town. It was built in 1687, with the permission of Venetians, and restored later in 1830, after the recent eartquakes.

It had been the wealthier church of the town. It has fabulous entrances with windows of a unique art, in a baroque order. Its iconostasis is really imposing and its icons are the work of Ioannis Roussos (i have mentioned him before) and Spiridonas Ventouras.

At that point our first part to Lefkada's churches came to an end, only for a while. Very soon we will come back for the next part: churches around the island of Lefkada.
